This weekend is made for riding, the eastoverland is of course muddy, where it is always muddy, not criticizing the trail makers, but there are parts that head down the fall line, so water and mud is often a problem, but if there are not plans to fix it, then just consider it stream riding.
flagged more of the extension, now need to start thinking about some real work on the trail bed, tried to flow with the contour so hopefully this area will be less prone to damage,

| guess what, where it is always wet, it was wet, a few blow downs, but by this weekend, I am thinking very good conditions, with the weather forecast.

nice and dry, finally, went to the trail talk at the ag center, don't know if they are thinking of readjusting some of the trails (streams) or not.
on a side note, snagged another to help out on the extension between U and V, if you don't know what I am talking about, don't worry, not completed yet. but making headway.

I think I am the only guy here who rides the east and west overlands, but in case you were thinking of getting down this way, the section between R and S is closed on the East overland trail, of course I failed to take it seriously and tried to ride it, to see what all the fuss was about. it's funny how trees know how to fall to cover the largest section of trail. I think they actually had a union meeting before toppling over, deciding who should drop where.
I think my upper body got more of a workout hauling my bike up and over the jungle gym, anyways.
I am still working on the extension in the old logging section, I have about 2 miles blazed, although every few weeks it's a consant battle with pricker bushes, certainly not ready for prime time players, but I'll keep the lounge informed.

Went riding with twright yesterday. Haven't ridden with him for years. We discussed his ideas for blazing a new trail and I think they are good. I hope to be able to go up to the East Overland Trail and help him this weekend.

I ran A-V sunday 4/19/9. it was in good shape. the trail is fine @ B. It has been widened to permit big rigs. There is a big blow down right before the lot at L. Stay on the far side of the tree tops to get around it. this will not be fun on a bike. it is smooth sailing until just before U where the logging has occurred. Again it is passable on foot while the biker will find it not so pleasant. you can detour out the fire road to the left and ride to the junction at the lot. the trail is fine the rest of the way.
go out and get some

| mushmouph, A-V ??? Yer a mad man..Man I'm outta shape. I rode T-V and back. To say I was winded is an understatement. But yeah, from T-U it's rough do to the logging. I also had to get off and walk around some downed trees from U-V. Kind of a pain when ya get a good ride to haveta stop and get off. But all in all it was a nice ride and GREAT to get back out on the trails..

i ran out and back today from o to a. the saw crew has cleared most of the windfalls. the trail is in great shape for riding. the more it gets ridden the better it will be. i saw evidence of mtb tire tracks but still no humans. i am the last person on earth who uses the trail?
it is a ride worth doing. it will be ~25 according to my gps. l-i is a great section with one minor lameness. f-b has some great steep climbing that will be a hoot to descend. it is mostly cross capable.
go out and get some

| mushmouph, between Uand V, when you hit the pea gravel on the logging road, hang a right and ride or run down there, I've been hoping to get some thoughts critiques or otherwise, will be back out on Friday, and perhaps saturday clearing.

it's an endless battle till enough tree canopy develops to reduce their growth, however my golf swing is steadily improving with each pass of the sickle. I think they would drink up round up, like it's kool-aid. (and I am not talking about the Rev. jim jones kind)
feel free to battle them at will. with what ever mechanical, human powered means you care to try
