Big group ride on the Harris Hill extension tonight, conditions were great, thanks to all the hard work of twright! That guy needs some serious recognition! _________________ Thick skin makes for short fences.

we have now scratched out just about 6 miles of single track, that when added to the 4 miles of the lower East overland, (out and back 8 miles), this area can give you close to 14 miles, ride the ext. loops the other way, and close to 20...
would enjoy hosting any wnymba trail folk gurus down for a ride and get your thoughts on it.

instead of tossing a pile of links to pics up here, head over to
http://harrishillext.webs.com/
and you should be able to see them,,
although my photograph kind of sucks, you can't quite get the terrain change very well.

Couldn't resist the thought of riding some new trials, so I made the ride down to check out the H.H. Extension and some of the Overland trials...
SUUUUHHHWEEET.
Got a tour of trails by the man himself, and I must say: Thom (twright), with the help of the down-to-earth NAMBA crew, really did some beautiful work out there.
Some how Thom managed to fit 6 miles of singletrack in a very tiny area while keeping every trail secluded from the next - you need to hear someone panting or yelling with excitement to even know you're 15' from another rider behind the trees on the ultra organic soil. He defiantly figured out what it takes to keep a trail moving the way it should too; well thought out lines, banking turns, a combination of corduroy and earth buildup over every wet spot, GREAT log-overs, ups and downs that turned some lines into a hybrid between singletrack and pumptrack, smoooooth sailin though the sticks - locked the fork out after a mile and barley noticed the difference, oh did I mention?..PURE SILENCE.
I found that the trails were designed for a cretin speed and Thom had it nailed. His pace was exactly what it needed to be in order to enjoy the trails to their fullest. Too slow and you're headin off the line, too fast and your jamming the breaks at every turn. Once you find that specific pace, all the stars align and you can focus on shifting your weight around the bends to make it seem as if you are riding a self propelled roller coaster. BRAVO THOM - thanks for all the back breaking work out there - Let us know when the next Trail work date is.
Once we touched all the new trail we took off with the NAMBA crew to some of the Overland trials which were a blast too. Long gradual up/downhills on Single-and-a-half-track that you can take for 45+ miles! Great to place to get a long ride in - lean-to's along the way, some with clean hand pump well water! Glad to have made a new personal discovery out there.
Let Thom know if you want a tour - he is all about sharing his hard work with anyone looking to ride.
Thanks again to Thom and his helpers for the hard work
