Even though it had rained right before we got there, GH was still in awesome shape last night. A little slippery on the roots, but awesome. _________________ 2010 Asheville MVP

Rode the new SS this morning. The trail east of the road is in pretty good shape. West of the road is a different story; a lot of wet muddy spots. We definitely need to get back to having trail days at Golden Hill. _________________ The year of 6 Oh

| Great trail, longer than I thought, but the unbearable heat, overgrowth and biting flies everywhere demoralized us.A couple of huge downed tree sections had us confused for a minute and wishing we had chainsaws.Plan on coming again but not until it cools off a bit.

Give Eville (and Brook) a rest and RIDE HERE!
The 4 J's (those guys that build 90% of the trails around here) did some amazing trail work here Saturday morning and it shows!
Fun, fast and almost puddle free! _________________ 2008 Asheville MVP. J2DB. Ride Matador Fiore Ride! El Nino! Chunky Monkey!

| I think Golden Hill is the best place to ride in the area.

My favorite part is the 3-4 mandatory dabs to get through the super narrow tree gaps. The hikers that designed the trail system made very sure that no one would go around them either by making huge piles of branches on either side. Something like that should be incorporated into the EVL trails. _________________ Opinions are like pimples, they vary in amount and cover different areas.

The trail network was designed and built by Bert Schweigert.
He`s a mountain biker.

Burt did like his trees. I always think of him when we route something between two trees. I remembering trimming a half inch off bars just for GH

The only thing Bert didn't quite envision, was how those trees would grow over the years, or the advent of wider bars, especially on 29ers. _________________ The year of 6 Oh

| Trails are dry. A few mud holes but with the warm weather they will firm up soon. Thanks to those who have done some of the trail work here.
