Yep. I donated about a gallon of blood last weekend, but it's all good.

Rode everything at Golden Hill yesterday except for The Whammy. For the most part - things are good there EXCEPT for ONE large, but easily fixable problem. The most northern section of the Blue loop is so overgrown that it seems like it's being reclaimed! Tons of thorns and large, heavy weeds abound. Warning! Riding/Blasting through results in some serious scrapes and cuts.

Obviously our trail heroes have done a ton of work cutting out much of the blow-downs - although one MASSIVE one still exists (also on the Blue loop.) The dry weather of late has all but solidified the mud holes - but you know where the problems will be when it's wet.

Still, always a good workout (a 10 switchback climb has to be) and ride - even if it does look I've been attacked by an angry cat!

Golden Hill is a disaster zone right now. Not because it's wet, but because there are trees down everywhere.

They aren't all across the trail, which is a good thing, but the beautiful pine forest is a major mess. A storm of biblical proportions must have really ripped through there.

Trails are dry. A few mud holes but with the warm weather they will firm up soon. Thanks to those who have done some of the trail work here.

The only thing Bert didn't quite envision, was how those trees would grow over the years, or the advent of wider bars, especially on 29ers.
