Actually the riding wasn't that bad yesterday, as many have said, with this horrible Mother Nature thing going on, you need to ride when you can. And if Stan (the man) reads this, it was a nice ride, and man can U make a large hooped rigid single speed go fast. I definitely need some more quad work.

David

What are the advantages of riding a mountain bike anyway?
Staying at home, lying on the couch is much more comfortable

CONDITIONS UPDATE:

Kevin just called me, he is out cutting the blowdowns. It rained all last night at Sprague Brook and is very wet. His report is as follows:

Although everything is very wet, you can ride Foote Road, the new Skunk Ridge (sledding hill) and Creek Trail, as well as the the short creek trail that parallels the road from the main parking lot up to the XC parking lot and then the short section from there to the XC trail (at the top of the hill) but NOT the Bridges trail to the Xc trail. There is standing water in all of the ditches in the area.

I just finished a road ride going through the area around sprague brook and there was wet pavement as late a 1:30pm in the shade.

The short version is that we would not advise riding tonight or until things have more time to dry.

I'm sure the (1) blow down on Foote will stay. Just for future reference though, we (Ben & I ) clear all of the blow downs on Foote on a regular basis because, basically there will ALWAYS be blow downs on Foote. If the current one works, then it stays. If I hadn't cleared the 10-12 blow downs this year, no one would be riding on Foote.

Kinda half way if I remember right-wasn't really paying attention as I figured you would start at bottom and get both. I don't know how close you can park at the top, but it might be closer from there.
Sorry I wasn't paying much attention

Our insurance company has "strongly suggested" that we tell you that Mountain Biking can be dangerous. If you're visiting this site it's very likely that you're already aware that if you insist on having a good time by riding your mountain bike, eventually you will almost certainly fall down and collect any number of boo-boos, dings and injuries, serious or otherwise, but we have to tell you anyway.

Mountain Biking is a potentially hazardous activity carrying a significant risk of bodily injury and even death. Mountain biking should only be undertaken if you have a complete awareness of these risks. You can reduce the level of risk by wearing a helmet and by riding within your own skill level.
