Come join us for some trail work at Hunters Creek.  We will be meeting at 10am at the Hunters Creek Rd parking lot.  Bring yourselves, gloves, appropriate clothing, and some water.  WNYMBA will provide tools and lunch.  If the weather cooperates we will conduct a group ride after lunch.

We'll be working on the purple trail near the Hunters Creek Rd parking lot.  We've already cleared the over grown sections of the trail and now we have a few short reroutes to work on.  As some of you may know, there are two fall line ravine crossings on this trail one of which includes a "bridge" that has seen better days.  We'll be rerouting these two sections upstream to better crossings.  Not only will this get rid of fall line sections of trail that are creating erosion problems, but we'll also be making the trail longer! This means more great trail to ride! Because these reroutes will use some old non-system trails, the building should go really quickly and we'll be able to add a lot of trail distance wise for a minimal amount of work.

If we have enough volunteers, we'll also work on a third reroute that will add in a nice bench cut to replace another section of fall line trail.  Again, we'll be making the trail a little longer for more great riding, but I also think we can work in at least one sweet banked turn at the bottom of the bench cut.

I hope to see you all there, especially if the weather holds.  Hunters has been riding incredibly well the last few weeks.

Our insurance company has "strongly suggested" that we tell you that Mountain Biking can be dangerous. If you're visiting this site it's very likely that you're already aware that if you insist on having a good time by riding your mountain bike, eventually you will almost certainly fall down and collect any number of boo-boos, dings and injuries, serious or otherwise, but we have to tell you anyway.

Mountain Biking is a potentially hazardous activity carrying a significant risk of bodily injury and even death. Mountain biking should only be undertaken if you have a complete awareness of these risks. You can reduce the level of risk by wearing a helmet and by riding within your own skill level.
