While WNYMBA members love racing in general and particularly those fine groups in Western New York like Single Track Racing and HeartRateUp who run races in WNY, WNYMBA doesn't actually run or sanction races ourselves and our insurance company has "strongly suggested" that we tell you that. So there, we told you!

Great racing today at Chestnut Ridge Park, The Winterfest Mountain Bike Race was a success!  Over 40 racers came out to challenge themselves on the course, which received a good 3 inches of snow last night.  Thanks go out to the Town of Orchard Park Recreation Dept, SLIDERS, MUD and CRANSKINS.  Without their support events like this could not happen.  And thanks to all who came out to race and cheer.

FINAL RESULTS

The STSII is in the books and it was a huge success.  We had 95 racers and close to 40 kids come out and race.  I think everyone that came out had a great time.  There is no way we could of pulled off this event if it wasn't for our sponsors:

MUD

SLIDERS

EASTERN MOUNTAIN SPORTS

KISSING BRIDGE

CRANKSKINS

COLDEN COUNTRY INN

WNYMBA

We paid out cash prizes totaling over $1500 and almost $2000 in merchandise.  Plus great food and drink and a great festival atmosphere topped off with perfect weather and trail conditions made the whole day wonderful.  Full results should be complete and posted by tonight.  Thanks again to all that came out and made the STSII a great event.  I can't wait for STSIII.  Here is a link to the photos that EJ from CRANKSKINS took:  CLICK HERE

Our insurance company has "strongly suggested" that we tell you that Mountain Biking can be dangerous. If you're visiting this site it's very likely that you're already aware that if you insist on having a good time by riding your mountain bike, eventually you will almost certainly fall down and collect any number of boo-boos, dings and injuries, serious or otherwise, but we have to tell you anyway.

Mountain Biking is a potentially hazardous activity carrying a significant risk of bodily injury and even death. Mountain biking should only be undertaken if you have a complete awareness of these risks. You can reduce the level of risk by wearing a helmet and by riding within your own skill level.
