A Very Special Shout Out - To All Who Helped

Just wanted to thank everyone who supported our effort to win funding to build a world class flow trail at Holiday Valley.

We had a terrific voter turnout, and came within 5% of the votes needed to win.

We are hoping to turn this into a win by some other means.

Again, thank all of you for your support.

WE’VE GOT BELLBUILT FRIENDS IN FAR PLACES!

WE’VE GOT BELLBUILT FRIENDS IN FAR PLACES!

Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz (MBoSC), a BellBuilt grant finalist on the West Coast, has agreed to throw their full support behind WNYMBA when it comes time to vote for our own Flow Trail at Holiday Valley in May.

This is HUGE!

BUT, we need to offer our own support to MBoSC by voting for their Demo Flow Trail at Soquel RIGHT NOW. Voting for the West Coast finalists closes TODAY APRIL 20th, so you must vote TODAY!

Please, help both MBoSC and WNYMBA - do it now, it only takes a minute.

You vote by e-mail address. It's simple. Here's what you need to do.

Go to http://www.bellhelmets.com/bellbuilt/ right now and follow these easy steps:

  • Select "The Demo Flow Trail at Soquel"
  • Enter your e-mail address
  • Enter the blurry verification code they use to keep out robots
  • Go to your e-mail inbox and open the confirmation e-mail from Bell
  • Click the confirmation link

Simple as pie! You gotta do this. More importantly, you have to have everyone you know and everyone they know do the same thing. Please vote for The Demo Trail at Soquel today!

Bell Built Preview

This is only a preview if we get the grant!  We won't get the grant unless you vote.  Voting starts May 5.  Only one East Coast winner.  Project with the most votes gets the whole thing.  Loser gets nothing.  Vote!!!

Great Success with the WNY Mountain Bike 2014 Spring Kickoff Party

We had almost 100 people attend our Spring Kickoff Social Party at Tom's Bike Shop.

It was a fun format.  First, Tom fed us great food and beverages, and we just socialized.  Then we had a bunch of 5 minute talks about upcoming events.  We gave out over $500 in prizes to trivia questions.

It was a good time had by all.  Thanks to WNYMBA and Tom's Pro Bike Shop for hosting the event.  Also thanks to the Buffalo Outdoors Meetup and WNY Mountain Bike Meetup for helping out and providing the people.

You can check out photos of the event here.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Our insurance company has "strongly suggested" that we tell you that Mountain Biking can be dangerous. If you're visiting this site it's very likely that you're already aware that if you insist on having a good time by riding your mountain bike, eventually you will almost certainly fall down and collect any number of boo-boos, dings and injuries, serious or otherwise, but we have to tell you anyway.

Mountain Biking is a potentially hazardous activity carrying a significant risk of bodily injury and even death. Mountain biking should only be undertaken if you have a complete awareness of these risks. You can reduce the level of risk by wearing a helmet and by riding within your own skill level.
