Yes, there really is a lot of snow left - No Fooling
Only once before in the last couple of decades was there skiing still at Sprague Brook in April. To nobody's surprise, this year was the second time in recent history. There's lots of snow everywhere!
I don't have a go pro, but I did try skiing without my poles, holding my phone up front. This gives a good idea of what it looks like around where the exit to the Foote Rd. trails is (I glance sideways there).
The bottom line? It is going to be a while before we can get out riding. Please wait a couple of weeks after the snow melt. That means it will be late April or early May this year unfortunately. Trails are especially susceptable to damage in spring. If they are allowed to dry out once in the spring, they are good to go the whole year. But use when muddy in spring can doom them for the whole year.
And remember, riding country is snow country. The snow lasts a longer there. Don't be like whoever this was who must have thought that because the snow is melted in Buffalo, it was time to hit the trails:
